About High Plains Technology Initiative
Technology learning for high school and college students in Goshen County.
Our Mission
High Plains Technology Initiative is a Wyoming-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit technology mentorship and workforce development initiative dedicated to expanding technical opportunity for high school and college students in Goshen County and rural Wyoming.
We provide accessible pathways into technology fields through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and practical projects—so students don't have to leave their communities to access quality technical education.
As a community-focused nonprofit, we're committed to long-term educational impact and workforce development in rural Wyoming.
Our Philosophy
High Plains Technology Initiative emphasizes practical, hands-on learning over theory alone. We focus on real systems, real projects, and real operational experience.
Our approach emphasizes:
- Hands-On Learning: Building through real projects, not just theory
- Mentorship: Direct guidance from experienced technical practitioners
- Operational Capability: Practical skills with real systems and tools
- Curiosity & Discipline: Encouraging exploration and consistent learning
- Community Focus: Building technical opportunity in Goshen County
Founder Story
High Plains Technology Initiative was established as a nonprofit initiative to bring accessible technology education to Goshen County through community-centered workshops and mentorship.
Operating as a 501(c)(3) organization, we're structured around a public-benefit mission: ensuring students in rural Wyoming have the same access to quality technical learning as students in major cities.
Our nonprofit model allows us to focus entirely on educational impact and community benefit—not commercial interests.
What Makes Us Different
Not a Bootcamp
We focus on sustained capability development, not just course completion. Learning happens through real projects and mentorship over time.
Not a University
We prioritize practical skills and operational experience over theory and credentials. No exams, no grades—just hands-on learning.
Open & Accessible
No prior experience required. Participation is based on curiosity, consistency, and willingness to learn—not credentials or background.
Nonprofit Mission
As a 501(c)(3) organization, we're building a sustainable regional ecosystem focused entirely on education, mentorship, and community benefit.
